Permanently displayed at the Department of Archaeology, the exhibition Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Middle Ages is located in three halls. The lobby displays historical maps of the emergence and changes in the borders of the medieval Bosnian state from the mid-10th century to its disappearance in 1463, as well as its territorial and political organization. The first hall presents the period from the 6th to the mid-12th century, the second hall presents the period from the second half of the 12th to the 15th century, while the third (middle) hall displays monuments of architecture and sculpture from the 12th to the 15th centuries.<\/p>\n
Particularly attractive medieval artifacts are ste\u0107aks, medieval tombstones, which are exhibited in the open air. In the Botanical Garden of the Museum, you can see 21 ste\u0107aks, arranged in two groups: on the northern side of the garden are ste\u0107aks from Herzegovina, and on the southern one from the territory of Bosnia. The third group of ste\u0107aks (10 monuments) is located on the green area, to the left of the main entrance to the National Museum.<\/p>\n
