Completion of Phase I of the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund Project
Dear visitors, partners, and collaborators of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
With the end of the current year, we have completed Phase I of the project “Implementation of Works on the Landscaping of the Southern Part of the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Phase I)”, which was co-financed by the Environmental Protection Fund of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Through this project, basic infrastructural works were carried out in the southern part of the Botanical Garden, including the following activities: excavation of trenches and installation of water supply and irrigation pipes, as well as electricity and lighting cables; preparation and construction of walkways (ground base preparation, installation of base layers, gravel placement, and curbstone installation); construction of crushed-stone islands; construction of a pond; repair of the existing fence; renovation of the greenhouse and hotbeds, among other works. In addition to the Fund, this phase of the project was also co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Museum’s own funds.
Thanks to the FBiH Environmental Protection Fund, as well as other co-financiers, we are now one step closer to putting into use a previously unused part of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s garden, and to the final completion of the Museum project as originally envisioned and designed by Karl Paržik. The works will continue in 2026, and we believe that during the year the garden will be opened to the public.
We would like to thank all participants for their cooperation and look forward to its continuation.
