The book was preceded by field research work to collect material related to customs of Bosnian and Herzegovinian Muslims related to death, and several stories were recorded. The spaces of the home, the grave as a place of rest, and memory are presented, and in conclusion, customs related to death have preserved archaic elements more than any other segment of tradition.
