Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina Rejoins Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI)

We are very pleased to share that, after a long time, the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina has once again become a member of Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) — the world’s largest global network of botanical gardens and plant conservation experts.

BGCI’s work focuses on improving and developing more effective, economical, and rational approaches to plant conservation in botanical gardens. This is achieved through advocacy and leadership, the initiation of innovative and strategic projects, strengthening plant conservation capacities, and securing financial support.

What does BGCI membership mean for our garden?

  • Access to the world’s largest network of botanical gardens and experts
  • Opportunity to apply for grants through the Global Botanic Garden Fund
  • Access to the BGCI Botanic Garden Accreditation Scheme and mentorship program
  • Technical support and advisory services for botanical gardens
  • Access to global databases (PlantSearch, ThreatSearch, GlobalTreeSearch)
  • Training opportunities and free access to courses via the BGCI online training platform
  • Networking, knowledge exchange, and promotion of activities at the global level

We extend special thanks to the Government of the United Kingdom, whose support made the renewal of membership possible.
