Laboratory for the conservation of ceramics, stone and mosaics

The laboratory takes care of archaeological objects as well as objects from younger periods. In addition to conservation and restoration of objects, the laboratory performs in-situ conservation-restoration, protection during archaeological excavations, delivery of archaeological finds to laboratories and making replicas of museum exhibits from various materials.

The laboratory applies modern methods of conservation and restoration, studies and modifies them according to the subject matter, and engages in research and investigation work. The laboratory also deals with preventive conservation in depots and permanent exhibitions.
