Acinos orontius (K. Malý) Šilić

This is a low-lying perennial plant from the deadnettle family (Lamiaceae). It is 10 cm–20 cm tall and has numerous long greenish or violet-reddish shoots. The leaves are 3 mm–4 mm long, bare or covered in cilia. They can be entire or have sparse notches, elliptic or ovate. The venation is prominent, often violet in colour. It flowers from April to June; the flowers are reddish or pale violet. It bears tiny (1.75 mm long) dark brown reverse ovate fruit.

It is narrowly endemic to Bosnia and Herzegovina, growing only in the dolomite complex in the area of Konjic. In ecological terms, it inhabits open areas or black pine forests.

Because it grows in such a specific area and no other, it is categorised as very vulnerable or endangered on the Bosnia and Herzegovina Red List.
