Multidisciplinary Exhibition “Hasanaginica”
The National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is proud to announce the opening of the exhibition Hasanaginica, which will take place on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
The exhibition serves as a bridge between the past and the present through the synergy of artworks by academic sculptor Adis Lukač and valuable editions of Hasanaginica from the rich holdings of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina Library, carefully selected and prepared by librarian Saliha Alijagić. The exhibition has been coordinated and organized by senior curator Ernis Šljivo.
Through a sculptural portrait of Hasanaginica, the exhibition offers a unique artistic interpretation of the heroine, whose visual representation has never been historically recorded. Through his personal artistic vision and understanding of the character, Lukač presents a frozen moment of the face behind the veil, highlighting the emotions that permeate this timeless ballad.
The exhibition is further enriched by editions of Hasanaginica from different periods—including studies, collected volumes, anthologies, and other written works—which testify to the enduring power and cultural significance of this ballad.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the story of Hasanaginica in an authentic way and to explore her cultural, historical, and emotional legacy.
