The Heroic Age of the Histri exhibition opens

On Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., the guest exhibition of the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula "The Heroic Age of the Histri" was officially opened. Director of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ph.D. Mirsad Sijarić addressed the audience and expressed satisfaction with the successful cooperation with colleagues and institutions from Croatia, which resulted in the arrival of high-quality exhibitions, accessible in this way, for the audience from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The director of the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula, Darko Komšo, emphasized that this is the third international hosting of the exhibition, and gave an insight into its organization. The author herself Martina Blečić-Kavur Ph.D., briefly addressed the audience, primarily to thank all members of the team who are actually responsible for the realization of this project.

The name of Istria is the most important, but not the only surviving element of the monumental Istrian Iron Age culture presented in this exhibition. The symbolic title The Heroic Age of the Histri is intended to highlight the indelible trace of the millennial habitation of the Histri, which still resonates in the spirit of Istria today.

The exhibition, authored by Martina Blečić-Kavur and the museum team, presents 200 of the most significant archaeological objects from the prehistoric period, including weapons, tools, jewelry and other objects that testify to the life and customs of the ancient inhabitants of Istria.

The exhibition will be open until 26. 01. 2025.
