Job Opportunity: Project Manager for a Project Funded by the British Embassy in Partnership with the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Position Title: Fixed-Term Project Manager; Part-time (3 days per week in the office)

Duration: 1 December 2025 – 31 March 2026

Location: National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo

Reporting to: Acting Director of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Programme Team of the British Embassy Sarajevo

  1. Background

This position is established to deliver a UK funded project with the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project will focus on community engagement and development of the botanical garden. The project manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of ‘Project Heritage’. The Project Manager will ensure that the project is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. They will be the main point of contact with the British Embassy, providing regular updates including financial costings.

  1. Objectives of the Assignment
  • To manage the day-to-day operations of the project including delivery of a community engagement pilot – designed by an external consultancy.
  • To ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • To monitor and report on project progress and risks.
  • To coordinate resources and stakeholders effectively.
  1. Scope of Work

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining project plans and schedules, working closely with the strategy consultant to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Organizing and leading project meetings.
  • Delivering project events with the support of the wider museum team.
  • Tracking project deliverables and ensuring quality standards.
  • Tracking project spend and providing monthly financial updates to the British Embassy.
  • Managing project documentation and reporting.
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and ensuring effective communication.
  • Supporting procurement and contract management as needed.
  1. Deliverables
  • Ensure the pilot project can be delivered within appropriate timescale, identifying owners of specific tasks, creating an action plan including communications and advertising.
  • Regular progress reports (weekly/monthly) with museum colleagues
  • Monthly financial report to the British Embassy
  • Final project report and documentation as required by the British Embassy
  • Stakeholder engagement and communication logs.
  1. Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination or management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and reporting (including monitoring and evaluation, financial reporting, risk reporting).
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written) are essential.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  1. Duration and Payment Terms
  • The contract will be for a fixed term, to end on the 31 March 2026.
  • It is a part-time job, which requires 3 working days per week, in the office.
  • Payment will be made monthly, subject to satisfactory performance and deliverables.
  1. Confidentiality and Ethics

The Project Manager is expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the organization’s code of conduct and ethical standards throughout the assignment.
