Mat

The mat is made of home-made wool on vertical or horizontal weaving loom, using techniques of finger interlacing andpre-weaving. These techniques were used by Bosnian and Herzegovinian women in handiwork,home or in workshop activity. These are traditional techniques of weaving for making kilims (carpets), prayer mats, cushions, pinafores, bags and druggets. Mat dimensions are 316 x90 cm and one can see motifs with stripes (zatka) and zigzag lines on it. The mat was used as rug on the settee,on the floor or on the stairs.
