Zoogeography

This exhibition stands out in that it does not show species of animals found in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but species from other continents. Many of these species are considered exotic.

The exhibition is based on zoographic findings and, more specifically, the division of the Earth's land mass into three zoogeographic areas: (1) the Northern World (Arctogea), comprising the Arctic, North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa; (2) the New World (Neogea), comprising the land mass of South America; and (3) the Southern World (Notogea), comprising Australia, Oceania, and the Antarctic.

The exhibition is especially attractive for the youngest visitors, who get an opportunity to see, in the form of taxidermied exhibits, animals which they can otherwise see only on TV or in a film. To mention a few: the leopard (Panthera pardus), Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris), American aligator (Alligator mississipiensis), boa (Boa constrictor), yak (Bos grunniens), African buffalo (Syncerus caffer), and birds such as the ostrich (Struthio camelus), and flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber).
