Call for Papers for Glasnik Zemaljskog muzeja Bosne i Hercegovine - Archaeology 54

Dear colleagues, Editorial Board of Glasnik Zemaljskog muzeja Bosne i Hercegovine / Herald of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Archaeology series, has started preparations for the new volume of the journal. We invite all interested authors to submit their papers. Here you may find instructions for submitting, necessary technical characteristics and deadlines.

Glasnik Zemaljskog muzeja Bosne i Hercegovine is a scholarly journal dealing with cultural, historical and scientific issues in the field of archaeology and the humanities. It has been published regularly since 1889. 

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS 

Papers for publication in the current calendar year are accepted until 1 May. Manuscripts received after that date will be considered for the following issue. Manuscripts are accepted in Bosnian, Croatian or Serbian and in English, and are published in both English and one of the former languages. 

Manuscripts should be submitted in digital form by e-mail to [email protected] (subject: za uredništvo GZM/Arheologija) or submitted on CD or DVD, accompanied by a print-out, to: Glasnik Zemaljskog muzeja BiH/Arheologija, Zemaljski muzej BiH, Zmaja od Bosne 3, 71 000 Sarajevo, Bosna i Hercegovina. 

Upon receipt, each paper is submitted anonymously for peer review to at least two readers. Following review, authors are required to make such changes to the paper as are indicated by the reviewers and the editorial board. 

The editorial board reserves the right to reject a paper on reasonable grounds. If two readers submit conflicting views the editorial board will submit the paper to a third reader for review. 

The reviewers suggest the category for each paper, and the editorial board issues the final decision. 

Glasnik Zemaljskog muzeja BiH publishes: 
– original academic/scientific papers, 
– reviews, 
– professional papers, 
– announcements, 
– seminar papers. 

REQUIRED ELEMENTS 

Manuscripts are to be submitted as a Word document, with the author’s full name, in 1.5 line spacing, in Times New Roman 12-point font, with lists within the text in 10-point. 

The cover page shall include the following: 
1) Title of the paper 
2) Details of the author(s): author’s full name, academic qualification, name and address of institution, e-mail address 
3) Abstract: 150-200-word abstract in the third person, in italics, in the language of the paper 
4) Key words: the abstract is to be followed by 5 to 10 key words. 

REFERENCES TO ILLUSTRATIONS, FIGURES, MAPS, TABLES, LISTS ETC. IN THE TEXT 

References to illustrations, figures, maps, tables, lists etc. are to be in brackets, as follows: (Ill. 1), (map I), (tab. 1), (fig. I), (list no. 1). Where the reference is to more than one, they shall appear as follows: (Ill. 5, 7), (map II, 1), (fig. I, 1). Where the reference is to more than one part of the same figure, it shall appear as follows: (fig. I, 1, 3, 7-10). Where the reference is to several figures with several parts, it shall appear as follows: (fig. ( 1, 3, 7-10; fig. II, 7-9, 11) 

BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES 

The journal uses footnotes to cite bibliographic references. The footnotes shall be inserted at the appropriate point in the text and numbered sequentially from 1 to n: 
Raunig 1982. 

Where a footnote includes more than one bibliographic reference, they shall be separated by a semicolon: 
Raunig 1982, 54; 1984, 72. 

BIBLIOGRAPHY 

A single bilingual bibliography shall be produced. Abbreviations of journal titles are to be avoided. The works are to be listed in alphabetical order by author. Where several works by a given author are listed, they shall be given in chronological order, with more than one work of the same year by the same author indicated as follows: 
Čović, 1983; Čović, 1983a. 

The titles (and subtitles) of books and journals are to be written in italics. The place of publication is to be given as, e.g., “Wien”, not “Beč”.
