Malachite

The most recognisable characteristic of malachite is its intense green colour. It is also popular because of its striped texture, with alternating strips of lighter and darker shades.

Pyrite

Pyrite comes in beautiful and regular crystalline forms. With its yellow colour and metallic sheen, it is reminiscent of gold. It differs from the precious metals in that it cannot be worked. Also, while gold grinds into yellow dust, ground pyrite is black.
