The new edition of the Sarajevo Haggadah with accompanying study soon available

After two years of work the new edition of the Sarajevo Haggadah will be available next week.

The new Sarajevo Haggadah facsimile edition of the highest quality, accompanied with extensive and detailed scholarly study written by the eminent art historian, Prof Dr Shalom Sabar from the Jerusalem University, has been prepared by the expert team from the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina together with external associates and in cooperation with the UNESCO Office in Sarajevo.

While work on binding and covers of the books (Sarajevo Haggadah and study) is in process and will be finished these days in the Grafotisak Printing house, we would like to point that this facsimile edition is the first one, ever since 1894 when the Museum bought the manuscript from the Sarajevo Sephardi family Koen, entirely made in production of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is important to tell that the study The Sarajevo Haggadah: History and Art will appear in Bosnian and English, very soon also in French, and we hope that next year it will appear in German, Spanish and Hebrew.

The new edition of the Sarajevo Haggadah will be available in the Museum’s web shop.

More details on this publishing enterprise of the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Sarajevo Haggadah, will be given out during the following days.
