Odsjek:

Dogtooth violet is a species of the genus Erythronium from the lily family (Liliaceae) and is one of the most beautiful spring sprout in our sessile oak and common hornbeamforests, as well as in montane and subalpine beech forests, going as far as alpine pastures in the region of mountain pine. The plant reaches the height of 10-20 (-30) cm  with a straight and naked stalk, with solitary flower (rarely two). The leaves are thick, spotted, but examples without spots can be found, uniformly green in colour (f. immaculatum K. Maly). Elongate bulb with its form and size reminds of a dog's tooth, hence its comon name, derived from Latin name dens canis. Range of the taxon in Bosnia is connected to the habitats  around Derventa, Prolog, Kamešnica, Bugojno, Kupres, Travnik, Vranica, Olovo, Konjuh and Sarajevo surroundings (Trebević, Igman, Trnovo), whereas in Herzegovina it grows in the Konjic region, on Visočica, on Prenj, in Borci, in Rakitnica canyon, around Gacko and Nevesinje. According to IUCN, it is classified in the category of endangered and vulnerable species.
